Day 11

back to Fasting Section

Fast: Water & Juice until 1 p.m.

“…David, …a man after my own heart.  He will do everything I want him to do.”

Acts 13:22 (NLT)

David must have been very passionate for God, for God to say those words about him. While reading on one of his many prayers in the book of Psalms, I found a phrase that caught my attention.  It’s in Psalm 63:8, and it reads, “I hold on to you for dear life, and you hold me steady as a post.”

As women and G.G.’s it’s so crucial to have this type of relationship with God.  A relationship so passionate, so intimate, so close, where you CLING to God!  The word cling is defined as

  1. 1. hold on tightly to.
synonyms:hold on to, clutch, grip, grasp, clasp, attach oneself to, hang on to
  • adhere or stick firmly or closely to; be hard to part or remove from.
  • remain persistently or stubbornly faithful to something.
  • be overly dependent on someone emotionally.

God desires that we have this closeness to Him. So close, that nothing else can come in between: not sin, not insecurity, not fear, not pride, not other relationships, nothing.  We must fall in love more with our Savior, clinging onto Him, like a child clings to her father.  Trusting Him.

As we get closer to God, He reveals himself to us.  He shows us His heart, and puts in us His heart.  We begin to look more and more like Him as we draw closer to Him.

My prayer for us these 40 days is that we would become more passionate for God!  That he would be so close to Him that He can trust us “to do everything He wants us to do”.  Let’s

seek God, serve people, inspire everyone, and Love PASSIONATELY!  Let’s be women after God’s own heart.
