“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.”
Philippians 4:8-9 NLT
The world we live in is full of information, news and opinions. More than ever we are constantly flooded with updates on social media, news sources and notifications on our smartphones. It’s vital for us at times like these to not only guard our heart but also guard our mind, being conscious of the thoughts we dwell on. At times we can’t control the information we come across but we can control what we fix our thoughts on, what we choose to dwell on. This is so important because our thoughts are either leading us to the peace of God or they’re producing fear, doubt, negativity, and even unholiness, if we allow it.
Let’s ask God today to guard our mind, that we would dwell on what is true, excellent and worthy of praise. “Then the God of peace will be with you.”
