“ARMED AND READY”
The word of God tells us in Ephesians 6:10-20 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all, the Lord’s people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
When a soldier goes out to battle is because he is armed and ready for war. The word or God warns us that the battle we are going into is a spiritual warfare not against the natural. We have been enlisted in this army of U.W.I.M & G.A.N.G. Girls. To be prepared, armed and ready to fight the fight of faith. Therefore, lets clothes ourselves with our armor:
Belt: The Belt is referred to the TRUTH as Christian soldiers the truth of God is what holds everything together in our lives, meaning we are born again and renewed in the mind of Christ, and that we are in constant fellowship with God.
Breastplate: As Christians we must protect our heart by living righteously, that is, with Integrity, holiness and purity of life, and with sincerity. Righteousness keeps our hearts from ever being wounded and losing its focus.
Sandals: As children of God we have been called to announce the good news of God’s Kingdom. Having our shoes on we are ready to move in and out in different cities announcing God’s word. The sandals represent readiness.
Shield: The shield is what guards us; this is something we must decide to take up, something we are required to raise. Just strapping it to our arm won’t do any good at all if we don’t make the effort to hold it aloft and use it. While a physical shield protects us physically, faith can protect our spiritual lives even in the middle of physical trials.
Helmet: The Helmet represents our Faith, hope and love, each one is very essential for us. One thing we must understand is that the helmet is what protects our mind from fatal attacks of the enemy therefore a helmet is not a piece of equipment to be underestimated. It represents our salvation.
Sword: The sword of the spirit is both an offensive and defensive weapon that we can use against the enemy. As Children of God we must be trained, equipped and ready, knowing our word to combat in warfare with the enemy. The word of God is what makes us strong in our faith.
Let’s continue to lock arms as we continue our journey during these 40 days of Fasting and Prayer, just like Paul encouraged the people in Ephesus to be alert and always keep on praying for all, the Lord’s people. I encourage you to pray at all times without ceasing for one another, lifting up our families, our loved ones and our V.O.I. family all over the world.
Restoration and re-dedication of all those who have left the Lord.
