Year of the Best Fuel By Passion
If this year is to be our best year yet, then we must be willing to give God our very best. In the corporate world the employee that advances into a promotion isn’t always the employee that posses the most educational degrees. A recent study clearly indicated that 83% of the work force receive advancement promotions at work and advancement in salary simply because they do their absolute best everyday within the time frame they are given at their jobs. Let’s liken this to a student. When a student comes prepared and ready to learn while in school and complies with the rules and expectations that the instructor has laid out this student will display a “best effort”, mentality and produce the absolute best results possible. The student may struggle to learn the material being taught but this struggling student seeks out tutoring and forsakes sometimes the fun free time they could have in order to insure they will pass the test. What fuels both of these individuals in these examples is a passion to do their best in everything they do. Whether it is work or a job one must realize doing our best applies to all aspects of our lives. The saying of “Do what you are passionate about and you will experience success and joy”, isn’t necessarily true. This way of thinking limits you to only having success in a few areas of your life. If this is to be your best year yet then your whole way of looking at life must change. The norm is to pick and choose those things you are passionate about and neglect other areas in your life. This cannot be a person who lives their life in a passionate manner. A passionate individual wants all of their life from the moment the awake to the moment they sleep to be fuel with newness and not to invite yesterdays problems and last years’ set backs to cloud their perspective & passion for this year.
Mark 2:21-22 New Living Translation (NLT)
21 “Besides, who would patch old clothing with new cloth? For the new patch would shrink and rip away from the old cloth, leaving an even bigger tear than before.
22 “And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the wine would burst the wineskins, and the wine and the skins would both be lost. New wine calls for new wineskins.”
New Wine calls for new wineskins. We can’t expect God to give us his best daily when we aren’t willing to give Him our best daily. It’s like expecting God to do for us what Malachi 3:10 says:
“I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!
Yet we don’t give him our best in our tithes we give 0% or 1%-9% and say God understands why I can’t give 10%. With this thinking we cannot expect God to pour out a blessing so great … Bottom line stop living your life dedicated to only the things you are passionate about. Instead live a life that is passionate about being the best for the BEST in every area of your life. The past is the old wineskins of life. God wants to put new wine, a new fresh perspective in to a new you!
