Day 12

Don’t stay where you are… GROW!

“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.” – John 15:5

If the people in a church grow, then the church as a whole will grow. At every stage of our walk with Christ it is of importance to be continually challenging yourself to grow and bear fruit. We are all at a different stage in our walk, some just getting to know Him, learning to love Christ, then belonging to His family, then from growing in Christ to serving Christ to sharing Christ with others.

Currently I live in Amsterdam, Holland. Holland is partially under sea level which means we are surrounded by a lot of water. In the same way that stagnant water starts to smell and after a while bacteria starts to grow. It is water that is moving and flowing that brings forth health and life. Are we moving? Is God’s living water flowing through us? Are we willing to pour out our lives as a drink offering before the Lord? Paul said in Philippians 2:17 “If I am being poured out as a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you all.”

Jesus had a growth plan to move people from where they were to where God wanted them to be in their spiritual journey. It is vitally important to understand where you are in your discipleship process and be moving forward to the next place. Also in our discipleship with others, let us never be afraid to challenge people in their commitment to grow, grow in faith, grow in giving, GROW!

I encourage you today to take a moment and evaluate, am I growing or are there areas of my life that have become stagnant? Are you willing to tell God today that you are ready to be poured out as an offering, and allow Gods glory to be manifest and see that He will prove Himself to be all you ever dreamed He would be. Let us continue to pursue Him, growing into all He’s called us to be with the confidence that He is faithful to do what He said He would do.

“…but GROW in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.” (2 Peter 3:18)
